Where I tell you how much I appreciate you, and make you drool over my Cupcakes.

I wish I were more poignant, brilliantly amusing, witty, and profound. I imagine myself saying something so fabulous I leave you all stunned with my amazingness. But really, all I am, is me.

I am slightly random, and more than a little sporadic. I tend to be unorganized. I love glitter, and am sure it has burrowed itself deep into my carpet by now. I love Paris. I love Italy. I love shabby chic. I cook in spurts. I would love to write a novel. I can picture myself singing on stage belting out “I believe in you and me” by Whittney Huston, but that will never happen. I can bury myself in Christian Fiction and not come up for air for a week. I love music. I love taking photos. I wish I were a professional. I have my fingers in too many pies, there are so many things I love to do, and want to do, and never get to because I am a wife and mom, and that is full time in itself!

But what I love about blogland, is that you all love, even admire, me and all my quirks. And I adore all of you. I love reading all your blogs, delving into your lives, seeing your ideas, and knowing YOU. Here in blogland, we can express ourselves, our “MEness” and not be afraid of what one another will say. The kindness and support is wonderful. Blogging is life changing. It seems odd to say that. But it’s true.

I sat with my husband the other night, musing out loud about how I love this, and he said- “It’s like the olden days when women would get together and share recipes and ideas, and talk about their lives and homes.” This is so true. We gather round our computers, and jump into one anothers lives. Life is so busy, and I think that we have fewer chances in real life to do what we do here. It is an innate part of being a woman to be able to communicate with one another like this, and share with and support one another.

We also get to jump past those nervous first meetings, the fear of being judged for how we look, or the struggle to find those in the crowd who are open and honest rather than judgemental or seemingly stuck up. Because on our blogs we pour out our hearts and lives and expose who we are. I can find a new blog and feel like I instantly “know” someone new.

You all fuel my creativity. I am energized by your tips on home decorating, crafting, sewing, writing, cleaning, and loving. Thank you!

Yesterday (Monday) I got started on cooking for LaLa’s 1st Birthday party! We are celebrating on Valentines day, although her real birthday is a few days later. I decided to bake and freeze her cupcakes in advance, so I don’t totally mess up the house the day before the party. I am quite thrilled with myself for planning so far in advance. I’m feeling a little guilty for my son’s party last November, we just went to McDonalds. And not only that, but the playland was closed! Doy. I don’t think it really matters to him though. He had a blast.

So I baked and frosted the cupcakes today, and I plan on decorating them a little further tomorrow. I tried a cupcake and it was GOOD! And R.I.C.H. Man oh man. Those kiddies are going to be scraping frosting off for sure, because I wanted them to look decedent, and I succeeded. And so, without further ado-

Here is the baking process…

And here is the (currently) finished product!

Don’t you wish YOU were gonna be there? You are invited…let me know when your flight gets in. 😉

There goes my diet this week.

(Be sure to check out Music Monday below, and let me know what you think about my idea, I’m feeling a little insecure about it today…it could just be hormones though.)

  1. I love this post. It really is fun to blog…I didn’t have any idea that I would love it so much. Although, some nights I stay up WAY too late, hanging out in blog world. I L.O.V.E the cupcakes. I can’t wait to see pictures of the party! We are having G-K’s party on the 28th. Oh, and yes…I forgot to tell you~the white coat is from Children’s Place. They totally have the same coat!Have a good day!

  2. Your cupcakes look wonderful – I’ll be there after work! What a great post – I was very unsure of blogging myself, thinking nobody would want to read my ramblings or see pictures of my home projects. But this has turned into such a fun thing – I can’t wait to find a few quiet minutes each day to read and be inspired by all of you.

  3. Your cupcakes are adorable! And they look absolutely delicious! I love the idea of Music Mondays! I think we will all enjoy checking out your recommendations. It’s always fun to discover new music, especially when it’s recommended by someone we really like! :o) And I don’t know about anyone else, but I’m really looking forward to Fabulous Finds Friday!

  4. Amen, say it again sister friend! I LOVE this post. And I love what your hubby said even more. It really is like old times when all the women got together and talked and shared and supported each other. Blogging really has changed my life…and for the better, absolutely! I, for one think your writing is very eloquent and thought provoking and darn funny!Love you girl!~Amandap.s. Those cupcakes look DIVINE. I am all about the sparkly purple frosting! PERFECT.

  5. Yummy! I love that your husband pointed out that we are like back in the day with our crafts and cooking! I too desire that in my own life and have found that blogging has been a great avenue of that! It is so wonderful to have access to so many fantastic women and fantastic ideas right at your fingertips! 🙂

  6. Those are beautiful and the best kind of cupcakes for me…THEY’RE AT YOUR HOUSE! So you freeze them with the frosting. I don’t think I’ve ever tried freezing anything with frosting…hmmm. I love the swirls of your frosting. I hope you realize that your creativity extends to frosting cupcakes. If I tried to swirl frosting…well I won’t try and paint that image. HAVE FUN with your daughters birthday. Teach them well that simple things, time spent, laughter shared and people enjoyed is a worthy celebration. Oh my, I think I’m sounding nearly elderly again. You are my glitter girl! I like that…I could throw glitter in the air, swirl around…OH WITH BUBBLES flying also…and just enjoy it all spinning around me. I want a room in my home filled with a bubble machine, glitter flinging and a magic vacuum to clean it all up…whenever I want.

  7. Yumm! Those cupcakes look delicious. I just wanted to say thanks for stopping by my blog. Also I used a photo embellishment. You can download some really cute elements. I dont remember offhand where I got it, but I love the Twopeasinabucket.com and shabbyprincess.com websites which both of them have free downloads.Ashley Nichole

  9. Those cupcakes look fabulous! At the moment I – and a portion of my house – are covered in glitter from my valentine craft party today. I’ll be posting about it in a day or so : )
